Captain Marvel X Reader Review

Captain Marvel is a big-screen superhero blockbuster that is based on the Marvel comics character of the same name. It is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to feature a female protagonist, and it’s an intriguing addition to the MCU canon.

The screenplay streamlined the Mar-Vell story and gave the character an interesting new personality. The movie also explores themes such as female empowerment, toxic masculinity, and misogyny. And it does so by giving Carol Danvers a voice.

While the movie does not explicitly state these themes, there are several references to them throughout the film. For instance, the Skrulls are used to address the refugee crisis. Also, the film addresses the MeToo Movement.

In addition to the aforementioned themes, the movie also tackles ingrained misogyny. Specifically, Carol Danvers is a woman who has been abused and forced to suppress her emotions. But the film examines her character through her memory, which gives her an opportunity to reconnect with herself.

Besides Carol Danvers, the film features other women. Her daughter, Monica, is inspired by her. She is also a member of the Avengers. When she isn’t traveling with the group, she can hang out at their compound whenever she wants.

The film’s action is competently filmed and the music is full of otherworldly synths. This makes for a unique sound. Additionally, there are a number of nostalgic references to the ’80s, which adds a lot to the overall feel of the movie.
