Recently, I had the pleasure of reading a Captain Marvel recap book. In this book, the story is told from the point of view of Carol Danvers, who was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditcheten and is an experimental human/suit made by Dr. Curt Connor, who discovered a cure for Vibranium. At first, the human experiment was successful but later, an evil villain named Syndrome injected with a serum into Carol, which changed her into a super human being. The serum made her increase in strength, speed, and agility as well as gain increased abilities in various forms of martial arts. Later on, Syndrome kidnapped Carol and held her prisoner in a secret facility, where he made experiments with her powers, such as enhanced telekinesis and invulnerability.
As you may not know, the original Captain Marvel was also a woman, named Mary Janice Davidson, who has also become known as Captain Marvel. After discovering that Syndrome’s serum was responsible for this, she left the organization and formed her own terrorist organization called the Hand. In the present day, Carol is asked to join the newly formed Avengers organization, along with her cousin Wonder Woman. The Avengers are created as an order of peace, and fight villains that threaten earth.
The current storyline of the Avengers involves a number of inter-connecting stories, which all build up towards the main story. Most of the characters featured in the comic books, including the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Avengers, have their own unique stories to follow. The story is constantly building up and advancing, and there is a great deal of conflict in the comic book world. This is one of the most popular comic book series in the Marvel Universe. I always look forward to reading the new comic books, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same way.
