During the course of the movie, Carol discovers that she’s half-Kree and half-human. Her DNA was altered by the Psyche-Magnitron device that gave her Mar-Vell’s powers. This caused her to feel conflicted about her identity as she battled against the Kree and their leader, Yon-Rogg.

When the Avengers went to space in 2023 to find and destroy the Infinity Stones, Captain Marvel was one of the heroes called upon for help. She helped save the lives of both Tony Stark and Nebula, as well as resurrecting the dead victims from the Snap.
