Brie Larson was born and raised in Sacramento, California. Her parents are therapists and she has an older brother who works as an accountant. She has also worked as a photographer, interior designer and animal trainer. She began her acting career with comedic sketches on The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno.
In addition to her acting, Larson is a powerful voice for women’s rights and has been active in the #TimesUp movement. She has donated funds to Legal Defense Fund in support of victims of sexual assault and harassment. She’s also a champion of diversity in film, and has spoken out against racial injustice.

When the Avengers went to space in 2023 to find and destroy the Infinity Stones, Captain Marvel was one of the heroes called upon for help. She helped save the lives of both Tony Stark and Nebula, as well as resurrecting the dead victims from the Snap. In the aftermath, she aided S.H.I.E.L.D in tracking down the survivors of the Snap, and formed a romantic relationship with War Machine (James Rhodes).
