If you’re a fan of the Marvel Comics universe, you’ve likely seen the Captain Marvel Origin Story. The new film is out on November 8, and fans can’t wait to see the next installment in the series. If you haven’t seen it yet, here are a few reasons why you should. First of all, it’s a great idea to go see it before it comes out on home video.
The storyline revolves around Billy Batson, an ordinary teenager who is transformed into a super-powered adult superhero by saying the word “Shazam.” Shazam, pronounced as ‘Shazam’, is an acrobat’s name, and it invokes the powers of legendary beings like Superman. Though many comics have featured Captain Marvel, the character also appeared in a 1970s live-action television series. Fawcett later published a twelve-issue limited series titled The Trials of Shazam!, which significantly changed Captain Marvel’s established characterization. She takes over the mentorship of wizard Shazam.
In the original series, Captain Marvel was depicted as a wholesome upstanding character with a big smile. Beck based his design on the actor Fred MacMurray. Beck also chose a style that looked like a comic strip. His cape was golden and featured a lightning bolt symbol. The comic book version of the character includes a white collared shirt. A gold cord held the cape. And a gold-trimmed waistband, waistcoat, and boots complete the look.
