Originally named “Mar-Vell,” the original Captain Marvel was a Kree hero who developed a close kinship with humans. He defeated Kree enemies, acquired new powers, and became an acclaimed hero. He also dealt with dysfunctional characters.
In the first few issues, Stan Lee and Roy Thomas handled the writing duties. Their work included the early “Bizarro” stories. They also wrote Lois Lane’s feature in Showcase #9. Eventually, Jim Lee was asked to write the comics. He teamed with artist Joe Staton to write the Earth-2 Huntress mini series. The mini series continued into the Worlds Finest line of DC Comics. During the New 52, he wrote Power Girl.
The DC Comics Shazam series ran for 35 issues. Despite the title, the character was not an iconic superhero like Superman or Batman. He was not yet fully developed as an interior life.
The character was a fusion of two teenagers. He was a white minority in the blue-skinned Kree empire. His secret mission was to find out if the human race was a threat to Kree supremacy. He encountered a powerful being who granted him increased abilities.
The character was briefly entrapped in the Negative Zone, but he was rescued by Captain Marvel. They shared adventures together for months. It was only after Brimstone convinced him to kill Macro-Man that he left.
The character was later replaced by a new hero. The character was created by Otto Binder. His house is named “The House that Captain Marvel Built.” During the Silver Age, the Marvel Universe featured characters such as Steve Rogers, Peter Parker, and Ben Grimm.
