Captain Marvel is the latest superhero to make her way to TV. It’s about an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in an intergalactic war with the Skrulls.
The movie starring Oscar-winner Brie Larson is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film with a female lead, and it’s been a massive hit for Disney and Marvel Studios. It generated $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the fifth-highest-grossing MCU film of all time.
A Powerful Hero
When Carol Danvers was exposed to an alien device that gave her superhuman powers, she became one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. Her status among Marvel’s elite grew dramatically, and she was eventually recruited by the U.S. government to join the Department of Human Services (DHS) as a security specialist.
But after years of working for the government, she found herself disillusioned and resigned from DHS. During that time, she had also been experiencing recurring memories of a life where she was Earth’s most popular heroine, Captain Marvel.
What We Know About Captain Marvel
So far, we’ve learned that Captain Marvel is a Kree warrior who has inherited most of her powers from her father, Mar-Vell. She’s strong enough to withstand Thanos’ power stone, and she can rip through vibranium.
It’s hard to say how powerful she is. But she has a lot of super strength, and she’s capable of bending light and projecting energy. She’s also a great fighter, which is why she’s expected to be able to hold Thanos at bay in Endgame. She can also fly, which is a huge bonus.
