Marvel’s newest star, Captain Marvel, is currently blazing through the box office in what is turning out to be one of the biggest movies of the year. In an early still from the movie, we saw Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers sporting a white shirt featuring the iconic logo of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. Now the band has teamed up with Marvel to release a limited edition t-shirt inspired by the film that’s available in their online merch store. The tee, which retails for $25, features the classic NIN logo inside of the Star emblem on the character’s superhero suit and is available for a limited time.
This is definitely a shirt that you’d want to wear with a leather jacket and some high-waisted denim. The shirt was designed after Marvel approached NIN about the collaboration and mashes up their respective logos to create the unique design. Fans have taken to Twitter to gush about the shirts and are hoping that this could be a sign that we might get to hear some NIN music on the film’s soundtrack.
Considering that the movie takes place in the 90s and that it’s chock-full of classic ’90s music from artists like Nirvana, Hole, Garbage and No Doubt, it makes sense that the film would feature NIN’s trademark sound. Hopefully this is just the first of many collaborations between the two. We’re already looking forward to a sequel that features some tunes from The Downward Spiral.
