Captain Marvel Doesn’t Have a Love Interest

For a long time, fans were hoping to see Captain Marvel have a love interest. It’s a common thing for MCU heroes to have a romantic subplot in their solo films. However, it seems like the film decided to skip this aspect of Carol’s story and instead focused on her friendship with Maria Rambeau. This decision led to some fans taking her and Monica’s relationship as something more than platonic.

According to producer Kevin Feige, they were actually considering bringing another character from the comics into the film in order to provide Carol with a love interest. He revealed that they were thinking about bringing in Helen Cobb, a fighter pilot who inspired Carol to join the Air Force. However, it was ultimately decided that the story needed to focus on her friendship with Maria and her relationship with Nick Fury.

Nevertheless, fans are still very happy with the decision to leave out a romantic subplot in Captain Marvel. The film has already grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing female-led superhero movies ever. It’s also a favorite among critics and audiences alike.

As a result, the film has set records across the board and is on track to become the most-watched movie of all time in North America. As the most powerful superhero in the MCU, it’s safe to say that fans will be eagerly awaiting its inevitable sequel. Hopefully, the next movie will address more of her mythology and give us more details about her powers and history.
