Ben Mendelsohn was cast as the Skrull leader Talos in the recent superhero film Captain Marvel. The actor, who also played the role of Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home, recently gave an NME interview about the fate of the character. In the interview, Mendelsohn revealed that he was initially supposed to die in the film, but that this may have changed after his casting was confirmed.
In the movie, Talos explains to Carol Danvers that the Skrulls have been displaced. He also brings along “the science guy” to provide proof of this. Talos seeks Carol’s help to reunite his people with their new home. He even casually eats dinner with her, joking about his baby blue eyes. The film has a very positive message for fans of comic book films and superhero movies alike.
Mendelsohn plays the part-human/part-Kree superhero Talos. He can shape-shift and has a wife named Soren. They have an unnamed daughter. Talos is an important member of the Skrulls, who have long been at war with humans. While they’ve resorted to violence against Kree heroes, the film does not show them doing so. As such, the character is unlikely to appear as a villain in the Avengers films. However, he could still join the Avengers in another intergalactic adventure.
While the movie has yet to be released, a recent set video gave fans a glimpse of Mendelsohn’s character Talos. Last seen in the Infinity Saga, the actor will be reprising his role of Talos in this film. The film is scheduled for release on July 8, 2022. This could be a major sequel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Talos was a great addition to the movie, he may not be around in the next Avengers movies.
