An Overview of the Avengers: Endgame Event
The Captain Marvel series has always had a bit more edge to it than most comic book superheroes. In particular, writer Kurt Busiek and illustrator Bill Sienkoff brought something special to the book that no other comic book hero could. For those who haven’t read the comic book series, the story line revolves around a future where Earth is not only populated by humans, but also numerous alien beings. As humans fight for survival against evil threats, many of these aliens become enmeshed within the human population until an all out conflict breaks out between Earth and her other inhabitants.
The origins of this future conflict are traced in the early days of the human race when they discovered another planet called Kanguru. While the species were initially friendly to humans, they discovered that these new neighbors were aggressive and wanted to take over the planet. In order to appease these creatures, the humans created the android called the Captain Marvel characters. These robots became the secret weapons of the humans against these new alien aggressors.
While it’s been established that the original Kanguru was erased from Earth’s memory, a new version called Earth-1 appears and has now brought forth another clash of civilizations. This time, however, there are two sides trying to win against each other. One of these teams consists of the Avengers, who have been featured heavily in the comic book series. With the advent of new recruits Spider-Man and Iron Man, the Avengers have turned into a powerhouse team fighting against any foe that gets in their way. One of the most exciting elements of the team has been their ability to turn the tide of the conflict in their favor by utilizing high-technology weapons and vehicles.
The endgame has also featured several lesser-known characters such as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Quicksilver is a time traveler and wove reality with the soul of Magneto. He appeared throughout the early parts of the comic book story and went on to join the Avengers alongside Iron Man and The Vision. His goal was to defeat The Fantastic Four and learn the secrets that The Avengers were holding in their comic book series.
Scarlet Witch, on the other hand, was a member of the younger incarnation of The Avengers. She had been recruited into the team after taking refuge from a battle she’d been involved in with the X-Men. After taking them in, she discovered several mysterious clues about the identity of the villain behind the attacks. Later on, she went on to become the primary protector of New York while using her own mind, body, and powers to do good.
There are several members of the line that have been featured throughout the history of the comic book world. Some of these include Cyclops, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, The Wasp, Quicksilver, and Wolverine. Of course, many more have come and gone, but the Avengers: Endgame storyline left a big impression on a lot of comic book lovers. It ended up being one of the most popular storylines in the entire Avengers comic book series.
